Our work is driven by the belief that design and research are inseparable. We use the teaching studio as a sandbox for architectural experimentation, while annual research expeditions to the Himalayas ground our practice in reality. These trips allow us to document indigenous construction techniques and regional details firsthand. We study this vernacular knowledge to understand its logic and improve upon it using modern building science and current methodologies.
